English/Spanish Interpretation at PestWorld 2011

Ocean Translations was appointed by the National Pest Management Association (USA) to provide interpreting services at PestWorld 2011. The Conference was a real success, it took place in New Orleans, USA from October 19th to October 22nd.

One of the Keynote Speakers at PestWorld 2011 was Chief Richard “Pitch” Picciotto, the highest-ranking firefighter to survive the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the collapse of the Twin Towers. Chief Picciotto delivered a very moving and inspiring speech on the Friday of the conference.
Below is a brief description taken from the NPMA program:
Richard Picciotto was an FDNY Battalion Commander in Manhattan on September 11, 2001. Following the terrorist attack, he rushed in-side the World Trade Center to rescue those inside, but soon found himself trapped in the smoldering rubble of the North Tower after its collapse. Buried for more than four hours, he emerged almost unscathed and was the highest-ranking firefighter to survive the collapse. In a presentation modeled after his best-selling book, Last Man Down, Picciotto offers a tribute to the lives that were lost that day. His recount is not one of death and destruction, but a celebration of life and its unpredictable nature. Picciotto offers an eyewitness account of the defining historical event of our lives; his story is that of a man, a hero, and a tragic event that inspired a nation.
